Remote Education Provision: Information for Parents

This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to pupils and parents or carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require entire schools, cohorts, classes or groups to remain at home.

Who is this for? This is for individual children who are unable to attend school for the reasons listed above. This is for children whose whole class are unable to attend school for the reasons listed above. This is for all children when the whole school is closed, and children are unable to attend for the reasons listed above.
What will learning look like?

As the teacher will still be teaching the rest of the class in school, children will have access to the Oak Academy lessons closely matching the content delivered in school. These lessons will focus on reading, writing and maths. A link to a Read Write Inc phonics session will be shared where appropriate. These lessons can be completed throughout the school day.

 

Where appropriate, paper-based learning packs will be delivered to children’s home addresses or made available for collection from school.

 

Teams links will be shared for daily story sessions taking place with the rest of the class.

Pre-recorded videos will be shared twice per day modelling tasks for parents to complete with their children at home.

 

Small group phonics lessons via Teams.

 

1:1 Teams sessions for individual children where their EHCP/IEP recommends an intervention and where appropriate.

 

Links to a range of suitable website activities shared daily.

 

Whole class Teams story time daily.

Home learning shared with class teacher on Reach More Parents.

 

Once per week phone call from class teacher to family to check in on learning and general welfare.

Twice daily teams check ins (9:15am, 3:00pm) for the whole class with the class teacher. This will allow the class teacher to outline the expectations for the day and then children to feedback on their experience.

 

Daily timetables will also be shared on Reach More Parents for those unable to attend the Teams.
